FLAG STAFF HILL LOOKOUT

A trip to Port Douglas is not complete without a walk up the staircase to admire the view from Flagstaff Lookout. Best admired soon after sun-rise, gazing over the ocean to the nearby reef of Low Isles, enjoy the best view of Four Mile Beach with the pyramid-like peak of Black Mountain in the distance. From the lookout you can see Thornton Peak (QLD’s 4th highest peak) and Mnt Spurgeon (QLD’s 5th highest peak) to the north, Black Mountain (QLD’s 7th highest peak) to the south and Devil’s Thumb (QLD’s 12th highest peak). The walk may get the heart-rate pumping somewhat, but certainly worth the effort!
